Cover of Questions Asked

Questions Asked is a book of sixteen short reflections, written in the first person, each built around a question the author has put to himself: Do I love my life? Who am I? Have I grown? Am I happy? What do I spend most of my time doing? Who am I going to be? What have I learned? Its premise is stated at the outset — a question asked marks the beginning of the thinking that leads to answers, and the right questions, asked of yourself, are the ones that change a life.

The subjects are the ones those questions open: success redefined as loving your own life, self-knowledge as the foundation happiness is built on, passion as an anchor, time as an asset spent recklessly by default, dreams that die only when their owner kills them, gratitude learned from having seen worse, and hope as what makes today's discomforts bearable. The voice is plain and personal, reasoning from the author's own turning points toward questions a reader can ask themselves. The chapters stand alone and can be read in any order; the last of them turns the method on the largest question of all — What is life? — and settles on the simplest answer: live.
