This Is My Life

So I look up

Chapter 17 of 17

So I look up, to a better me

Idleness is seductive.
Just relax and do nothing, it says.
I prefer to be proactive.
Get up and do something about it.
It pays.

Fear of failure is deceptive.
Don’t do it, you’ll fail, it says.
Courage is inceptive.
It’s where success starts.
It says do it, and don’t worry about what happens if you fail,
Because it’s either you get it right, or you learn how not to go about it,
So that you know what works and learn to do it well.

I’m not afraid of heights,
I actually want to go higher.
That’s why I look up.
To improvement,
To a better me.

Even if negativity surrounds me,
And challenges poke fun at me,
I look up.

I focus on climbing my ladder,
And not on the steps I left below.
I get higher, one way or the other,
And find myself better than I was before.

Besides,
I look better that way:
Looking up.

With chin up and the sun in my face,
I can face whatever comes in my day,
And make progress, whatever the case.
