This Is My Life

Windows into my soul

Chapter 3 of 17

Look into my eyes, the windows into my soul

Look into my eyes
And you can see it all.
Not tinted at all
And crystal clear.
They’re the windows into my soul.

Originality of mind untainted,
And enthusiasm for life, unlimited.

Look into my eyes and
You’ll see my mind.
A tranquil city,
That rebuilt itself and left the past behind.
A one-man population
That doesn’t entertain hostile visitors;
Unwelcome persons and their mind games.

Good thoughts traverse the streets all the time.
It hasn’t seen bad ones in a while.
To put it in simpler terms, I’m
Stuck in a heavenly state.

Very few recognize this.
And even less know of the city’s history.

Dig deeper
And you’ll see them.
Ruins and skeletons,
Remnants from the wartime.
Back when intruders could just enter the city, unfiltered.
Back when I cared too much about what people think of me.
Back when I gave hurtful people citizenship.

I’m at peace with myself now,
In my tranquil city.

I will never trade anything for this,
Because,
In calmness of mind is greatness.
