This Is My Life

Common denominator

Chapter 4 of 17

Life is not fair, but death is

I’m not good at math.
I do a lot of guess work.
One year is the same as eighty to me.

A centimeter is the same as a mile to me.
Those who have just started
And those who have run many laps
In the race of life;
I take them all.

Karma is an equation too complex for me.
Those who do good
And those who don’t;
No one is exempt.

No matter what number you have,
I am the one who decides all.
I am the one who divides all.
I am the number one, the common denominator.

There is no number of good deeds,
Or number of years lived,
Or number of times prayed
That can make you indivisible.

All are accessible to me.
No one is invincible.

I am the common denominator that makes everyone equal.
You will all die, young or old, sane or insane,
Good or evil.
I make everyone equal.
I am… Death.
