Do you remember our first night together?

Our first night together,
A portrayal of perfect bliss.
When your embrace protected me from the weather,
And the world seemed to fade away with every kiss.

It was an adventurous and unique quest;
Sleeping outdoors, in the cool breeze, in the moonlight.
Enveloped by your comfort, my mind was at rest.
A lot was happening in my life, but that alone felt right.

I had gone to sleep many times before,
But none of them felt like that night.
It was so much more,
Than just a night spent in the great outdoors.
I had no hidden agenda, didn’t care about the score.
I just wanted something different, and get to know
The beauty that lay beside me.

That night;
When my worries faded away, and my heart was filled with delight.
When our pasts seemed to amplify the light
That made our future, together, so bright.

When you helped me deal with the spite
That my ex sent my way with all her might.
When you reassured me of your love, and took away all my fright.
When you held my hand and squeezed it, tight.
And looked into my eyes, and told me that everything will be alright.
