Options should not deter you
Chapter 17 of 76
I’ve had rather educating encounters with contrasting options in my life, but I made choices I knew to be in line with who I am and what I want in life. At one point, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with my life, yet I had many options to work with. When I finally came to know that I needed to do what my heart wanted, it narrowed the options down to a few, and I chose one. As optimistic as I was, what happened next hurt me. Life took my choice away from me.
So I was now left with passion in my heart, but no options available to pursue it. So I went about searching for them, or at least ways to create the options for myself. That led me to the discovery of yet another path I could take in life, and I took it; my right path.
Even when you are on your right path in life, options still exist. Some come to improve and establish your path, but some can cause you to stumble. The availability of options should not cloud your judgement and make you lose your way. You only take what you don’t want when you don’t know what you really want. Keep learning more about who you are and stay aware of who you want to be, and you’ll be true to yourself no matter what options come or go in life.
The lack of options too should not force you to accept whatever life throws at you. It ought to serve as a reminder that you are not where you want to be and that you have to do something about it. When all is said and done, it is not the options you have that ultimately determine who you are, but it is what you do with them; options you choose to accept and work with, those you reject and work to subvert, or the ones you create for yourself.
