The Vision
2016 · A book by Innocent Mwatsikesimbe

The Vision, first published in 2016, is a book of seventy-six first-person reflections about the picture a person forms of their own life. Its title names something the book insists is self-made — “A vision is not given, it's created, by you” — with four dimensions: past, now, future, and you. The reflections work outward through self-worth, pressure and procrastination, money as an enabler that reveals character, selective patience, boundaries, criticism and betrayal.
Innocent Mwatsikesimbe reasons from lived incidents — a trashed notebook of writing, a career path taken away, five months in an unfamiliar place — testing each conclusion on himself first. Many reflections turn a familiar saying over: a backup plan can be a ticket to failure, knowledge is not always power. The chapters stand alone, read in any order, and the book settles on happiness and success as states maintained rather than stages reached, where losing love for your life is the only real failure.
