The Vision

When you hate losing it

Chapter 72 of 76

We hate losing what we love, and love losing what we hate; by this, we know what we hold dear and what is of little value to us. Insecurity comes only when there is a risk of losing something; not just anything, but that which we value.

A good way to check if you love something, or if it is of value to you, is to flirt with the idea of losing it. That will surely expose the truth about how you relate with the thing. It can even apply to love for life. You know that you love your life when mortality is a fact you embrace, but still hate.

You know that you love something when the thought of losing it is not something you like to entertain. You spend time, with it or working on it, and do all you can to protect it from people with bad intentions. I feel this way about my work. Your passion is something you cannot imagine living without, and something you are willing to die for.
