Patience pays, and so does impatience

It is said that patience is a good thing to have, and I agree. There are times when being patient bears great fruit. There are also times when being impatient bears fruit too.

Patience involves giving more time to something, in hopes that things will change and you will get the results you are aiming for. When you can see a satisfactory amount of reasons for “giving it time” then being patient will probably help.

When you don’t have enough reasons to be patient, and more reasons for you to see things change now, then impatience may help out.

It is better to have a selective application of patience. Something that is worth being patient for usually gives signs; reasons that support the assumption that more time will change things. Without these reasons, you will risk giving your limited time to things that will not change with time, and defeat the usefulness of patience.

It is not everything and everyone that deserves my patience. Patience is good, but selective patience is better.
