Satisfied with what I have
Chapter 43 of 76
I can reach a state in which I am satisfied with what I have, but it is only temporary. I know I will advance to the state of wanting to do better, and the process repeats itself.
This is why I probably will never give some advice that says people should be satisfied with what they have, and only that. If it is enough at that time, then they will. If it is not, or if things change, then they will want more or better. Wanting more in life is only wrong when you are driven by avarice, and not a genuine and reasonable need to be comfortable.
The statement “be satisfied with what you have” should not be used to tell a person to forcibly accept what they don’t want. It’s good to encourage a person to appreciate what they already have, but it’s not wrong to want to improve your life.
