The Vision

I want to be rich

Chapter 74 of 76

I want to be rich; not just to be wealthy but I want a rich life. A life that’s rich in the same way you might describe a nutritious meal: a life that is good for me. Money alone cannot give me a rich life; I also want the valuable immaterial things that make life rich.

I desire a life that makes me desire to live; a life with purpose and the right balance of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, so that I love what I have but still have something to work for.

I want freedom, to do what I want and be who I want to be. Life’s freedoms make living worthwhile. I consider myself rich if I have freedom, of action and of expression; if I wake up in the morning and know my past, understand my present and have hope for the future. The invaluable assets in life make your life rich, more than money can; and to have a good balance of both is something I appreciate.
