Strength to not act
Chapter 32 of 76
Just as it needs wisdom and strength to choose the right things to say or do, you also need wisdom and strength to be silent or abstain from bad actions. In life, situations arise that summon your dark side, and it takes a lot to subdue it.
It gets better with practice though. Habits, both good and bad, are established through practice. Our inclinations and traits are a result of habitual practices; if you practice maintaining a calm mind whenever you encounter problems, that habit will become a trait.
It takes more to abstain than to err, more to avoid mistakes than to make mistakes; but the good thing is that it gets better with practice.
