Pressures of life

Chapter 6 of 76

Pressures of life don’t always force you to act; they sometimes force you to a state of inaction. One needs to be aware of this to live a progressive life. A conscious effort to identify pressures of life and their true source will put you in a powerful state of mind, graced with clarity and determination. You will not react to pressure, and accede to its demands, but you will act out of volition and use it to your advantage.

Pressures of life don’t always force you to haste. They can push you to procrastination just as well. This is something that I admit to have overlooked many times.

When I thought about life’s pressures, I always had a preconception that they were offensive in a sense, and never passive. Take laziness for example. Pressures of life that cause a person to become lazy are not really offensive; circumstances just meet with your mindset and you think and choose to be lazy.

Laziness is when you accede to the misconception that work is unnecessary. We need work as much as we need rest; the two complement each other, one drawing power and enjoyability from the other. Rest is sweet after work, and work enjoyable after a good rest.
