Just the beginning

I’m not yet there, it’s just the beginning

I’ve come so far,
I look back, and all I see are memorable nights.
I don’t see the sleepless nights; back when I was reaching for par.
The times when I had to do a few wrongs, just to balance out the rights.

The road does seem long before you embark on the journey,
That’s why I think the most difficult part is to start.
But when you are in motion, and steps taken become many,
Nothing can stop you; that’s only if you guard your heart.

I don’t know how the years went by so fast,
But I know that it was worth it.
Because I’m doing what I love, my gratification will last.

And I know that I’m not perfect,
But this path feels perfect.

They say you don’t know what you are doing, until you stop doing it.
And for this short while I’ve actually stopped to look back,
I now notice the ambitious status that I took back.

Now all my close friends are expressing their shock and losing it.
I guess they didn’t expect to see me reach this far.
To go the uncharted way and come out winning,
But I’m not yet there; it’s just the beginning.
