This Is My Life

A veteran author

Chapter 15 of 17

The life of an author

Words come to mind with ease,
And his thoughts flow freely,
As when birds fly to where they please.

With the expression hidden deep within,
He puts the words down.
Every verb and every noun,
So that what is hidden may be seen.

He has done this before, countless times,
But each time feels like his first.
He feels nervous; he doubts his work at times,
Aiming to improve his art, to be at his best.

When his work speaks back to him,
And the words agree with what he feels within,
Then he knows that he has done it.

And no greater joy does he feel,
Than when he hears from the hearts he touches.
Saying that what he writes is real.
Though some might say otherwise, it only increases the power of his will,
And he does it again.

As the world awaits, and as the world watches.
