What Is Love?

A conceited woman

Chapter 28 of 30

A conceited woman meets a conceited man

You can see it from the way she walks,
You hear it when she talks.
An abundance of confidence
When she walks into a room.

All the others lose relevance,
A sight enthralling with full brilliance.

Men lose their composure because of her appeal.
All her sexy features that she is not shy to reveal.
She’s twenty-seven, with two children,
But gorgeous still.

I watch as men take turns,
To try and gain her attention.
But they only win rejection,
And embarrassment;
It’s like they never learn the lesson.

She knows what she wants,
In fact, she came here for him.
To a place I come to unwind, away from places that I can’t.

It was intense attraction since day one, it seems.
Two conceited individuals,
Too proud to admit falling for each other.

And they say opposites attract.
That’s a statement I’m willing to retract.

I don’t have to do much, before we start having a good time.
We drink and talk, but soon end the formality.

She asks me to go to her home;
And…
What she had in her bag of tricks, I never would have known.
