“Change is a friend to a life with a vision, but an enemy to an aimless person.”

Change unsettles a life that has no direction because every new condition can pull it somewhere else. Surprise becomes a force to fear when there is no clear sense of what should remain.

A vision gives change a place to work. New conditions can reveal another route, speed progress, or challenge the plan without taking away the larger end. The future remains uncertain, but it is no longer shapeless.

This does not make every change helpful. Loss and disruption can still move against what matters. Vision changes the response by keeping a direction present inside the movement. Change then becomes something to meet and use, rather than the only thing deciding where life goes.
