People will form opinions of you. It is human — built from what they see, hear and feel. The caution is about how much weight any single one of them can carry.

Even an accurate opinion is partial. It “only correctly expresses a part of that person’s being, at a particular moment in time” — and you have not stopped changing since. No fixed verdict holds a moving thing.

It runs the other way too: “What you think of a person is not necessarily the truth.” An open mind lets an opinion be refined toward reality over time. Refusing to see someone in different lights is what keeps you from ever knowing them deeply.
