Whispers get ignored more often than screams, which is how small warnings turn into expensive ones. The harder part is that ignoring is not always a choice you would recognise making. Some of it is flinching from a fact that would ask something of you, and some is never having built the habit of looking at all. Either way the fact waits, patient and unbothered, until it arrives at a volume nobody can miss. Admitting a flaw is the entry price for correcting it.
