Full of surprises

Well, life is full of surprises

The one I trusted the most,
And gave access to some of my many secrets,
Turned out to be nothing but a hoax,
And now I’m dealing with consequences and counting regrets.

It could have been worse though.
My instincts could have missed it.
Just how bad it would have been, I don’t know.

Life is a journey, an interesting one.
Be ready to meet the surprise of your life.
But if you are calm, after all is said and done,
You’ll get used to them, and use them to your advantage.

It’s not the surprise that matters, it’s how you react to it.
Will you stand tall, move on and manage?
