Nothing compares to me and nothing once compared to you

This is not conceit, neither is it excessive pride.
It is me stating a fact, one that’s hard to hide.
I am unique, it’s impossible to find another me.
Go ahead, make the critique.
Doesn’t change a thing as far as I can see.

I am different and you know it.
I gave you a chance, and you chose to blow it.
Now someone else did the same to you,
And you seem to not know how to handle it; what to do.

Nothing and no one compares to me.
I notice that it’s something you’re starting to see,
But it’s too late to be with me.

I irrevocably changed that time,
When you clearly showed me that you were wasting my time.

I’m glad you did that, by the way,
Because it made me better in a major way.

It would make you feel better,
If I didn’t mention the thing like it doesn’t matter.
If I said that I love you,
And that no one compares to you,
But even if I do, I’ll be lying.
But just so you know,
I once believed it to be true.
