Lost in your eyes
Chapter 8 of 30
When all hope is lost
I put both of my hands on my head.
In shock, disbelief; or is it just annoyance.
I’m here, but I’d rather be somewhere else instead.
I’m not living up to your expectations; a fact you convey with such flamboyance.
I say, “I am who I am.”
She says, “I don’t know who you are.”
I explain to her, again, why I invest so much into my passion.
I tell her that all I want is for her to believe in me,
But she says I’ve lost touch with reality.
But my insight is at a hundred percent,
And my hindsight is twenty-twenty.
Reverse psychology; don’t try to use it if you can’t.
Trying to amplify my shortcomings; to hide hers that are plenty.
I’m tired of the confrontations,
The loss of peace and the altercations.
I love her, but she isn’t worth the fight anymore.
I am more than capable of fighting for it, but I’m just not motivated as before.
I know this doesn’t come as a surprise,
I can see that all hope is lost; in your eyes.
