Take me as I am

Take me as I am and don’t try to change me; and I’ll do the same

This is who I am, and you should know that.
If this is what you love about me, then we are off to a good start.

See, I value freedom as much as life itself.
It’s better for me to die on my feet, than to live on my knees.
Without anyone to suck up to or try to please.
To be with someone that gives me the freedom to be myself…
And loves me for who I am, with ease.

That is what I want,
Because the worst you can do is try to change me.
Try to make me the way you want.
The truth is that nobody can change me,
You can try, but you’ll soon discover that you really can’t.
