A life can be pulled toward other people’s wishes until its owner becomes a guest inside it. Pressure, duty, and fear begin deciding how the days are used and what parts of the self are allowed to appear. Claiming the life means accepting all of it: pleasure and pain, good fortune and bad, and the responsibility to care for what happens next. Ownership is not a promise that every condition can be chosen. It is a refusal to hand over the right to respond.

If that right is left unused, someone else may gladly fill the space. Living one’s own life begins when its direction is no longer treated as another person’s decision.
