Take away fear, And all you see is reality.

Fear adds its own story to death. It fills the final hour with dread long before that hour arrives, allowing an ending that cannot yet be seen to take hold of the present. Without that fear, the fact remains: life began without our permission and will end without it. Nothing about accepting this makes death less real. It removes the extra power given to it through constant anticipation.

The life available now can then be met as it is. There is one part to play and no rehearsal outside it. Reality may still be hard, but it asks for living in the time that exists rather than spending that time afraid of when it will stop.
