Fake friends are just attracted to the mysterious, But they disappear when they think they've "figured" you out. When they think they know what you are all about.

Mystery can draw people who are interested in what someone might offer, not in who that person truly is. They watch, compare, and gather details while the newness holds their attention. Once they believe they have worked the person out, the interest fades. Some leave with stories about the faults they found. Others become hostile when what they discovered makes them feel threatened. Their friendship lasted only as long as there was something to uncover or gain.

A true friend is not held by mystery. Knowing both the good and the hidden, difficult parts does not make that care disappear. The difference becomes clear when curiosity has run out and there is only the person left to love.
